About Mercy Trails
Our Story
We started Mercy Trails with a passion for hiking and a desire to help inner city kids with basic needs of school supplies, backpacks, shoes and coats.
Inspired by the corporal Works of Mercy, we follow Scripture in the book of Micah—
“Do Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly with our God.” - Micah 6:8
The Gist
What We Do
At Mercy Trails, we meet at trailheads to prepare for an epic hike. Before we hike, we collect donations for each hike. These donations are in the form of backpacks stuffed with school supplies, coats or shoes. After the hike, Mercy Trails brings the donations to charitable organizations in Washington D.C. that distributes the donated items to the kids who need them.
